Title:
What Were They Thinking

The Role of Emotion and Cognition in Aviation
Date and Time:
Friday, July 28, 2017, starting at 12:45 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Ken Wittekiend
Brief Description:

This seminar explores the mystery of why aviators and others do seemingly irrational things under stress. From mid-air collisions to gear up landings, it seems we repeatedly make simple mistakes despite years of focus on solving the problem. By considering how we see, how we learn and how we decide, it is possible to avoid some of the common errors that can lead to accidents. This fast-paced one-hour presentation will help you answer the question “What Were They Thinking?”
