ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:

Richard Eastman is a CFII / MEI with something in excess of 13,000 Pilot in Command flight hours. He obtained a Private License in January of 1964; Instrument Rating in April of 1967, Commercial License in August of 1967, Flight Instructor’s Certificates (both instructor and instrument) in March of 1968, and Multi-Engine Certification in September of 1971.  He remains an active flight instructor, is a FAAST Representative, and is active with SCAUWG (Southern California Airspace Users Working Group) in coordinating airspace planning in the LA Basin with the FAA, airlines, airports, military, emergency services, fight schools, and cities.    

Richard built a Glasair Sportsman 2+2 at the FAA approved Glasair Two Weeks To Taxi program in November of 2006; the second person to complete a plane in the program.  He has an FAA LODA (Letter of Deviation Authorization) obtained in 2013, to provide transition training to builders and new owners of the Glasair Sportsman and Glasair Glastar aircraft; one of only five Sportsman builders in the United States so authorized by Glasair Aviation and the FAA.
