Title:
FAA Ramp Checks: What You Need to Know
Topic:
All about the ramp check process and what you can expect as a pilot if you ever experience one.
Date and Time:
Wednesday, May 21, 2014, starting at 19:00 Pacific Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Jeff Ebey
Brief Description:
You just landed, taxied to parking and shut down the engine. Someone walks up and says “Hello, My name is Inspector Jones with the local Flight Standards District Office and I would like to have a conversation with you.” What is this about? Why me?

Chances are it will be a straightforward experience, ending with a handshake and a “have a nice day.” However, some ramp checks end up with enforcement actions against the pilot.

Jeff Ebey, Aviation Safety Inspector with the San Jose FSDO will present this informative and entertaining seminar to explain the Ramp Check process and what you can expect as a pilot if you ever experience one. Mr. Ebey will explain the process, reveal what the inspector is looking for, and provide guidance and suggestions on how to properly handle an FAA ramp check.
