Title:
IMC Club Monthly Meeting EAA Chapter 766
Topic:
Last Minute Switch
Speaker(s):
Dave Rudd IMC Leader, Tony Kolar CFII - Volunteer FAA Safety Representative
Brief Description:
This discussion is led by Tony Kolar, Certified Flight Instructor and FAA SAfety Representative and is not meant as a lecture but rather an open discussion forum using real world scenarios to increase your level of safety in the IFR environment such as this scenario: Last Minute Switch. When flying single pilot IFR you must be prepared if or when ATC changes your pre-briefed IFR approach. If things are happening to fast, you are not prepared for the approach and the airplane is out in front of you -- what actions should you take will be discussed?
To ensure a safe flight your priorities as PIC are to Aviate, Navigate & Communicate. Safe instrument flying is a matter of mitigating risk, personal minimums and standard operating procedures. The Sheboygan Falls (WI) EAA 766 IMC Club provides organized “hangar flying” focused on building proficiency in instrument flying. An instrument rating is not required for attendance.
