Brief Description:

Successful operations into and out of short fields require planning and practice. We will be reviewing guidance on short-field operations from the Airplane Flying Handbook and review the criteria specified in the private and commercial airplane Airman Certification Standards. We will discuss how to safely use the performance information provided in Pilot Operating Handbooks and complications that change performance. We will also review methods to verify whether expected performance is being achieved.

A second speaker, Ronnie Moss, a retired Air Force Air Traffic Controller and current airline pilot, will discuss "How to become an airline pilot".

Pizza will be available after 6PM for those attendees who arrive early.
