Brief Description:
We've all heard about the difficulties dealing with a "Type A" student. But what about the other types? What are they? This session will present not only the four student personality types, but also what motivates them, and how the instructor can adjust their teaching style to best communicate with and teach the student.
This presentation is based upon the DiSC personality assessment. It is an invaluable tool for instructors, enhancing instructor-student communications and helping integrate safety messaging that aligns with the learner’s personality.

A pilot for more than 38 years, Miller has served as a flight instructor for the past 17 years. After retiring from a software management career five years ago, he began an encore career as chief flight instructor at Lunken Flight Training Center, which recently attained 141 Self-Examining Authority at historic Lunken Airport in Cincinnati, Ohio. He instructs in Cessna 172s and multiple private client aircraft, and has experience in 25 aircraft types. For the past 18 years, Miller has owned a 1961 Beechcraft Debonair.
