Brief Description:
Spend the night reviewing airspace and procedures around Fort Lauderdale and Miami with our local Air Traffic Controllers (ATC). ATC will discuss hot spots, Temporary Flight Restriction procedures, and answer questions. Next, we will meet our new Boca Raton Airport (BCT) Tower Manager, Mike Blackwood. He will introduce himself and we will discuss operations at BCT.

Join us at our first meeting after the summer break! Registration is NOT required. The Boca Raton Pilots Association meeting is free to all. We will start at 6:30PM with pizza, drinks and socializing, followed by speaker at 7:00 PM. There will be time for questions and answers after our speaker. We meet monthly, the first Wednesday of every month except July, August and December. In December instead of our monthly meeting we hold a holiday event.
Our speakers, Nicholas Candelier, has been a controller for 16 years including 12 years at Miami Approach Control. Mike Blackwood is a very experienced controller who has spent time in the military, the FAA and the ATC contracting companies like the one that manages our control tower.
We look forward to seeing everyone and starting up our meetings again. There is an interesting slate of speakers lined up including Mike Ginter, the AOPA Senior Vice President, AOPA Air Safety Institute in November!
