Brief Description:

Pilots are invited to join Reid-Hillview Tower Controllers Jack Trieger and Joshua Vappie who will present a safety briefing on operations at the Reid-Hillview Airport. The presentation will help pilots be more aware of safety concerns at the airport and thereby operate safely while on the surface and in the air. The briefing will cover the following topics:

• Airborne Traffic Conflicts
• Runway and Taxiway Efficiency
• PIREPS
• New Tower Equipment
• Questions and Open Discussion

Jack Trieger is an Air Traffic Controller who joined the RHV Tower Team in August 2022. He is a facility trainer and the Local Safety Council Lead. He also serves as an FAA STEM Outreach Representative, highlighting ATC career paths for students at aviation community events throughout the Bay Area. Currently, Jack is the tower’s Pilot Outreach Coordinator, where he works to strengthen the pilot-controller partnership by providing a look behind the scenes at ATC operations.

Joshua Vappie is an Air Traffic Controller who started his career at RHV in July 2023. Presently serving as Vice President of the RHV Local chapter of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association and a member of the Local Safety Council, Joshua has taken on a position of leadership within the tower to build and maintain a great culture here at RHV. Joshua touts many acknowledgments and achievements from management such as recently being named RHV Controller of the Quarter for 2025 Q4.
