Title:
February Topic of the Month - Visual Traffic Separation and Collision Avoidance
Topic:
Safer Flight By Understanding and Implementing Better Collision Avoidance Practices
Date and Time:
Thursday, February 12, 2026, starting at 10:30 Eastern Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Chris Peterson, FAASTeam Rep., MAS, CFII, DPE
Brief Description:

In this interactive seminar we’ll talk about a fundamental skill all pilots must master - visual scanning.  Despite the introduction of various collision avoidance systems, "see and avoid" is something we must do correctly to stay safe.  We'll discuss techniques to do this and situations where added attention to scanning details is well warranted. Knowledge is power and in this seminar we'll hopefully improve your skill set.  Let's all Fly Safe!

The event is a closed event open only to members of Charleston Southern University School of Aeronautics, and for further information to contact FAASTeam Rep. Chris Peterson at (843) 224-1074.
