Connecticut Business Aviation Group in collaboration with New England Air Museum and West Star Aviation along with many other sponsors, offer a full day event offering six unique presentations from keynote speakers that range from industry specialists, the FAA and aviation safety experts.
Join the conversation on SMS, ground safety, communication, accident investigations, A&P Human Factors, FAA Safety Team operations and more.
There will be an opportunity to view the museum exhibits, visit vendor displays and engage in Q&A with panelists. You must stay for the entirety of the event to receive WINGS/AMT Credit.

Directions to Venue:
The New England Air Museum is located on the north side of (Bradley - Windsor Locks, CT) BDL airport. If you fly into BDL, several FBO's are available for parking. Taxi/UBER/LYFT services are readily available to take you to the museum location.
If you are driving in, there is plenty of free parking at the museum.
The event will be held in the hangars and the front desk will direct you to the exact locations.

08:00 – 09:00 Set up for vendors and CBAG team.
09:00 – 10:00 Light breakfast and time for meet and greet / walk through hangars. – There will be breaks between speakers where people can feel free to look at “civilian hangar” next door with aircraft and vendor safety products displayed.
10:00 – 12:00 Three speakers to present on different topics in the “military hangar”.
- 10:00-10:50 - Patrick Moylan, West Star Aviation Chief Safety Officer and Keynote Speaker presents his presentation on SMS, Ground Safety, and Communication Improvements (1 WINGS Credit)
- 10:55-11:25 - Daniel Lucia, FAASTeam Program Manager BDL FAA, presents FAA Safety Team Information with a concentration on airworthiness (0.5 AMT Credit)
- 11:30-12:00 - Max Schmitter, retired FAA ASI, presents about the relationship between the FAA and NTSB and each of their roles in an accident or incident. (0.5 WINGS Credit)
12:00 – 13:00 Free catered lunch provided by sponsors, in the “civilian hangar” amongst aircraft on display and with vendor products on display.
13:00 – 16:00 Three more speakers to present on different topics, followed by a longer 1 hour round table / panel discussion. We will have prepared questions for the group of speakers to debate / discuss, and then will open things up to questions from all attendees. Breaks between this 3-hour block will also be held in the adjacent “civilian hangar”, with more time to look at aircraft and vendor products on display.
- 13:00-13:50 - David Cardullo, Boston FAA Principal Maintenance Inspector, will present Human Factors with a concentration on A&P domain. (1 AMT Credit)
- 13:55-14:25 - David Strassburg, Bombardier Demonstration Pilot and FAAST Rep, discusses fatigue and the risk associated in a dynamic flight environment. (0.5 WINGS Credit)
- 14:35-15:05 - Melanie Folcik Barillaro, FAASTeam Program Manager BOS FAA and Senior Aviation Accident Investigator, discusses the importance of an operational and personal safety culture and how it associates with risk within flights and the outcome of accidents. (0.5 WINGS Credit)
- 15:10-16:00 - Round Table and Panel Discussion to discuss/debate a variety of current safety trends and topics and open up to the audience for Q&A. (1.0 WINGS / AMT Credit)
After the event concludes, there will be some time to walk around the museum and then we may have some size of a group that would like to do dinner as well.
