Date and Time:

Brief Description:

The scenario titled "Night Emergency Practice" describes an actual flight as follows: You are planning to practice simulated emergency engine-out procedures during a night flight in the vicinity of your home airport. What do you need to consider to minimize risks? What additional concerns do you have about the flight taking place at night, and what kinds of things should you be prepared for? Join in the discussion and share your opinion. You may be surprised at how many ideas the group will have and have some fun, learning at the same time! Please join us and tell us “What would you do?”

 What is the EAA/VMC Club?

EAA provides monthly program resources in the form of actual VMC-related scenarios, designed to encourage open discussion and for all participants to answer the question, “What would you do if this happened to you?”

What is the purpose of the EAA/VMC Club?

The purpose of EAA Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) Clubs is to promote safe and proficient flying. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communication, promote safety, and build proficiency in flying.

EAA VMC Clubs are extensions of local EAA chapters, offering monthly VMC program meetings where pilots can network, share knowledge, and exchange experiences.

Do you need to bring anything?

First, bring your thoughts or story and be willing to share them with the group.  This meeting is very interactive.  Participation by the group is a fundamental element to the EAA/VMC Club meeting.

Others have found it helpful to bring along a copy of their flight manual, GPS manual, and charts.  If you navigate with an iPad, bring it along.

Who can attend?

The TAC and EAA 323 VMC Club meetings are open to the public. All are welcome. You do not need to be an EAA member to attend. We will also be discussing how you can earn WINGS Credit. Bring yourself, your experiences, and your questions.

The EAA VMC Club offers a "hangar flying" experience, organized around visual flight, to promote safety, education, and proficiency.

Call Mike McLendon (EAA/TAC) @ 404-825-4795 or Adam Sipe, CFI/FAA Safety Team Rep @ 708-603-5132 if you have any questions.
