Title:
EAA Chapter 129 VMC Club Meeting
Topic:
Practicing Emergencies - Developing Skills and Managing Risk, Plus Question of the Month on STCs
Date and Time:
Saturday, November 8, 2025, starting at 09:00 Central Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Carol Para
Brief Description:

Please join us Saturday morning, November 8th. Breakfast is served from 7-9 am in the hangar, followed by the VMC Club program at 9:00 am. All are welcome.  After revealing the answer to the Question of the Month (QoM), we will watch a short scenario video.

This month, the QoM involves Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) paperwork that is required to be in the aircraft. For example, installing different avionics would involve an STC and a 337 major alteration form in the logbook. We will review the differences and what you need to look for in the paperwork.

The scenario involves a pilot practicing night emergency landings. Our discussion will focus on risk mitigation and techniques to improve your ability to deal with these emergencies.

The purpose of EAA Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) Clubs is to promote recreational flying, proficiency, and safety. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency in VFR day and nighttime operations. EAA VMC Clubs are extensions to local EAA chapters and offer monthly VMC program meetings where pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences. Since 2017 our pilots have improved their proficiency through the EAA VMC club programs and they love it.
