Title:
Stature Aviation Basic WINGS Seminar
Topic:
GO AROUND OR LAND-SKILLS REQUIRING QUICK DECISION MAKING AND PRECISE CONTROL-WHAT HAPPENS WHEN NEITHER OPTION LOOKS GOOD?
Speaker(s):
Darren Fleming, Dr. James Rossler
Brief Description:
The Stature Aviation Safety Program provides a "hangar flying" experience organized around important safety topics in order to promote safety, education, and proficiency.
Every meeting consists of a scenario presentation and group discussion relating to the event topic. We also have occasional guest speakers.
The scenario(s) we will discuss at this meeting is/are: The Impossible Go-Around: You’ve got the whole family on board for a great weekend by the ocean at Falmouth Airpark (5B6). However, the landing attempt on a runway that’s short and obstructed didn’t go so well. Now you have only a second to decide if an attempted go-around will safely clear the trees—or result in a catastrophe.
All are welcome. You do not need to be a certificated pilot to attend.
We will also be discussing how you can earn WINGS Credit.

What is the Stature Aviation Basic Wings Seminar?
Stature Aviation provides regular opportunities for the local aviation community to meet and discuss important aviation topics during their "Cirrus & Coffee" hangar flying gatherings and annual "Stature Aviation Expo" happening in September at ADS.
The scenarios are designed to encourage open discussion, enhance decision making and for all participants to answer the question “What would you do if this happened to you?”
Do you need to bring anything?
First, bring your thoughts and experience and be willing to share them with the group. This meeting is very interactive. Participation by the group is a fundamental element of this event.
