Title:
Winter Flying Hazards
Topic:
Winter Flying Hazards. FAA Safety WINGS Program.
Date and Time:
Saturday, February 12, 2022, starting at 08:00 Central Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Bill Castlen, William Gray
Brief Description:

The IMC Club is all about mastering the art of instrument flying. At each meeting we consider a specific topic, scenario, or discussion points that takes us to a discussion or a decision point. Then, in a structured manner, we discuss alternatives and personal experiences. At this meeting we will look at situations whereas General Aviation Pilots make a decision that is possibly based on current or forecasted weather conditions.  We will also discuss what possible options and resources are available to assist in the decision-making process for weather when performing General Aviation activities and tasks during the winter months. In a retrospective, we will discuss the importance of recognizing some of the most common Winter Flying Hazards and how to recognize them while continuing to promoting overall general aviation safety.

Our meeting will start at 9:00 AM CST with a pancake breakfast starting at 8:00 AM CST and will include an update from our Ray Scholarship awardee, Kaleb Shumate. Donations gladly accepted. The IMC Club meeting will start promptly at 9:00 AM CST - continue to enjoy the pancake breakfast. Open discussion on common pilot mistakes while performing general aviation activities. We will also hold an open discussion about the FAA Safety WINGS Program.
