Title:
New Braunfels IMC Club No Way Out of Tucson
Topic:
Flying out of Tucson IFR, the Departure Clearance Is A Little Different
Date and Time:
Thursday, February 10, 2022, starting at 18:30 Central Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Tarry Ross - CFI-I
Brief Description:

Our scenario for the month of February is a flight out of Tucson, AZ (KTUS).  The clearance is just a little different and you normally just get vectors.  Today you are going to have to actually fly a SID and pay attention to departure procedures.  You are on your own.

EAA/IMC Club, through the EAA's global Chapter structure, provides organized "hangar flying" focused on building instrument flying knowledge and skills.  The program's network promotes a safety culture through continued education and believes that we develop safety and proficiency through education and real life experience. Monthly meetings offer an opportunity to share in-flight experiences and valuable safety tips.

Through the FAA Safety Program, aviation professionals provide informative WINGS presentations.  You do not have to be an instrument rated pilot to attend.  Membership in the EAA/IMC Club is encouraged but not required to participate in this meeting.

What is the EAA/IMC Club?

EAA/IMC Club is the brainchild of Radek Wyrzykowski, Instrument and Multi-Engine Instructor.  As a flight instructor in Norwood, Massachusetts, Radek developed a volunteer mentor program to help instrument pilots improve their proficiency, and they loved it.

What is the purpose of EAA/IMC Club?

At EAA/IMC Club, our aim is to promote instrument flying, proficiency, and safety.  Along with IFR flying and monthly local meetings, we offer a resource-rich website which provides an electronic experience base.

Our intent is to create a community of pilots to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety and build proficiency in instrument flying.  EAA/IMC Club offer monthly meetings in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences.

Do you need to bring anything?

First, bring your thoughts or story and be willing to share them with the group.  This meeting is very interactive.  Participation by the group is a fundamental element to the EAA/IMC Club meeting.

Others have found it helpful to bring along a copy of their flight manual, GPS manual, and charts.  If you navigate with an iPad, bring it along.

Who can attend?

You don't need an instrument rating to attend.  This meeting is open to all current, non-current, and future instrument pilots.

For more information about the EAA/IMC Club, please visit http://www.eaa.org/imcclub

If attending - Be sure to exercise the proper Social Distancing and Mask requirements established by the CDC, the State of Texas and Local Municipal standards.
