  • Power Attitude Configuration (PAC) techniques improve, Power Management, Configuration Management and Airspeed Control reduces pilot workload suring an approach.
  • A stabilized approach 1000 feet above touchdown elevation is defined as: In landing configuration and landing checklist complete
  • Operation below DA/ DH or MDA… no pilot may operate an aircraft below the authorized MDA or continue an approach below the authorized DA/DH unless—
    • The aircraft is continuously in a position from which a descent to a landing on the intended runway can be made at a normal rate of descent using normal maneuvers
    • The flight visibility is not less than the visibility prescribed in the standard instrument approach being used;
  • From the AIM: …during the approach at least one of the following visual references for the intended runway is distinctly visible and identifiable to the pilot:
    • Paint-- the threshold markings, the touchdown zone markings, the runway markings.
    • Lights—the threshold lights, runway end identifier lights, visual approach slope indicator, touchdown zone lights. the runway lights, the approach light system
    • Concrete –the threshold, the touchdown zone, the runway
  • You may log actual instrument time when you are on the autopilot in IMC
