Flight Recurrent Training is a a key part of the weekend
Cirrus Pilot Proficiency Program (CPPP)
offerred by the
Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association (COPA).
Flight participants at a CPPP will fly with one of the most experienced Cirrus instructors available. CPPP offers two 3-hour flight segments to accomplish these requirements.Through a flight training syllabus consistent with the FAA Wings program and the Cirrus Flight Operations Manual, Cirrus pilots will be required to improve and demonstrate their flying skills, both for visual operations and instrument procedures. Often, flight participants take knowledge gained from other CPPP ground sessions and apply them during these flight instruction segments.
CPPP weekend events are scheduled throughout the year in both the United States and Europe. CPPP offers two days of ground instruction in nine advanced courses and six-hours of flight instruction focused on Cirrus-specific safety knowledge and flying proficiency. Participants may register for flight+ground, ground-only or partner-in-command (for non-pilots). Insurance companies may offer Cirrus pilots a discount for CPPP participation, or require recurrent training satisfied by a CPPP. Completion of a CPPP weekend event as a flight+ground participant usually qualifies for the
WINGS
Level or higher Level credit in the
WINGS
- Pilot Proficency Program, which satisfies the 14 CFR Part 61 requirement for a Flight Review.
