This seminar is adapted from CFI Workshop #6 (and contains a subset of the material from that workshop). The 2007 Nall report showed that takeoff and landing accidents accounted for 56% of pilot related GA accidents. In the recently released 2009 Nall report that percentage has dropped, to 44%, but the raw number is still over 550 takeoff and landing accidents in the last year!
Refresh your knowledge on how to properly plan and fly your takeoffs, approaches, and landings:
+Takeoff and landing factors to take into consideration before you get in the airplane
+Normal and Crosswind takeoff and landing procedures
+Common errors and how to recover when something goes wrong
+Considerations for some of Northern California’s more challenging airports
+Why your landing speed is so important and how to fine tune it for a specific approach
NORTH COAST AIR will hold an open house and BBQ in conjunction with the seminar. Even if you don’t want to attend the seminar come on out and enjoy some food, swap pilot stories, talk to local instructors, and see what airplanes are parked at North Coast that day!
The seminar will be presented at 1000 and again at 1330, with the BBQ running from 11:30 – 13:30.
TO REGISTER FOR THE SEMINAR CALL NORTH COAST AIR AT 707-542-8687. On-line registration is not available. Just come on by for the BBQ – no registration is required!
This event is sponsored by your local FAASTeam and North Coast Air.
