Wednesday, March 7, 2018 18:00 Mountain Standard Time

Located at:
Aspen Flying Club
13000 E Control Tower Rd

Englewood, CO 80112

Description:

What speed do you use for flying the downwind leg of your traffic pattern? Does that number change when there’s a 5 knot gust factor? How about on an 80-degree F day? Why?

Join Aspen Flying Club and CFI James Sorbet for an in-depth look at airspeeds for safe operations. James will discuss rotation speeds, takeoff performance, climb considerations, enroute ops and approach and landing considerations.

James is a SkyWest Airlines pilot, Navy F/A-18C pilot, CFI/CFII/MEI/AGI and Stage Check Pilot. He has over 1500 hours of dual given and conducted over 40 stage checks at AFC. Regardless of your pilot experience, currency or type of operations, you’re sure to enjoy from this interactive discussion.

James will give real-world meaning to the alphabet soup called “V-speeds” in a practical presentation. Bring your POH/AFM and be prepared with any questions you may have.
