"Ground School Refresher - Weather Theory"
Wednesday, April 6, 2016 19:00 Pacific Daylight Time

Located at:
San Carlos Flight Center
655 Skyway Road
Suite 215
San Carlos, CA 94070

Description:

Pop quiz: What conditions would you expect to find under a temperature inversion? What other hazards are commonly associated with low-level wind shear? What are the stages in the life cycle of a thunderstorm?

If it has been awhile since you sat through ground school, you may be due for a weather theory refresher. In this safety seminar, we will review concepts pertaining to atmospheric circulation and moisture that pilots in the United States often face. We’ll cover condensation and cloud formation, thunderstorm development, the five types of fog, and the difference between frost and ice buildup. You will leave the seminar with a renewed understanding, and probably a few memory aids to take with your on your next flight.

This safety seminar is open to current and aspiring Private Pilots, and will be of particular interest to student pilots and those who are preparing for a flight review.
