A power point program by Bill Marvel. Our current air traffic control system has evolved over time. Prior to 1956 radar coverage, radio communication was fragmented, indirect and limited.  The story of this accident was the impetus to put air traffic control on the path to our current system.

In 1956 a mid air collision between a TWA Connie and a United DC7 over the Grand Canyon changed the air traffic control system.  Bill Marvel was in grade school in Kansas City and knew some of the people who perished in this accident.  He has researched this accident and has been to the crash site.  Bill has an informative and interesting power point program explaining  the how, what and why.
