Please join us for a full day of valuable maintenance seminars for Inspection Authorization holders as well as A&P mechanics. Presentations from aviation industry professionals and local FAA Inspectors will cover a wide range of maintenance and airworthiness topics. Registration begins at 0700. Seminars begin at 0730.

This full day of seminars will include presentations by industry and FAA participants. Numerous aspects of aviation maintenance will be covered by manufacturer representatives, STC holders, repair facilities and the FAA.

Attendance at all 8 hours will be required for issuance of a training certificate.

This session will cover sheet metal damage and repair.

Care and Maintenance of Cleveland Wheels and Brakes 

This session will cover on-and-off maintenance checks for our wheels and brakes, including external floating brake caliper assembly and the individual components, wheel assembly and the individual components, minimum lining and disc thickness, surface repairs for corrosion and recommended Mil-Spec repair for Aluminum and Magnesium Cleveland wheels and brakes, recommended Mil-Spec for primers and paints for Cleveland Wheels and brakes, recommended lubricants for wheel bearings, when and when not to use anti-seize on the tie bolts along torque values, and the reasons why you should always condition organic and metallic linings with the disc.

This session will present information on the new Piper PA46-600 and the findings that have been released/worked through since its release. It will also touch briefly on the new SLS series which has an emergency Autoland feature.

Care and Calibration of Measuring Devices 

This session will cover the proper use, care and calibration cycles for torque products. This will include Pneumatic Torque drivers, click, dial and driver style of torque wrenches, as well as torque testers, cable tensiometers, pressure gauges and crimpers.

Communication Accountability through “School of Hard Knocks” 

In this session I emphasize the importance of good communication both among the staff working on the aircraft and with the customer and building a "trust' relationship. I will share stories and examples to substantiate that.

This session will cover several theoretical models for the study of the interaction of humans with systems and offer guidance for training.

Maintaining the Grumman American Aircraft 

This session will focus specifically on the AA5, AG5B, and AA1 series Grumman aircraft and the very specific issues that arise on this unique aircraft. I will highlight on the expensive "Didn't know that about that airplane" issues.
