Topic:
Pre-Ignition and Detonation: Don't You Hear That?
Date and Time:
Saturday, February 29, 2020, starting at 10:00 Central Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Dennis Miller 'Gold Seal ' CFI; 2020 Greater Chicago FAASTeam Representative of the Year
Brief Description:

Pre-ignition and detonation are responsible for a significant number of engine failures in General Aviation aircraft each year. Pre-ignition occurs when the air-fuel charge ignites while the piston is still compressing the mixture. Detonation is a violent explosion process after the compression stroke near or just after top dead center. This seminar will acquaint pilots with the hazards of pre-ignition and detonation events.
