IFR Refresher Clinic with Rayvon Williams
A VC99's Pilot Proficiency Class

Rayvon Williams (CFII and IGI) returns to present the annual IFR Refresher Clinic. This offering satisfies the ground portion requirement of the Instrument Proficiency Check as defined in the FAA's IPC guidance document. The clinic will focus on the IPC Guidance's "Step 2 Ground Review" and include a series of scenario-based vignettes with a special challenge for attendees as the session concludes. Attendees will receive a logbook endorsement attesting completion of the ground portion of an IPC. Whether you are a VFR pilot who's been thinking of adding this useful rating, or undergoing IFR training, or an out of currency IFR pilot or just looking for a refresher, this is the session for you.

BRING: Attendees should download and/or print the FAA IPC Guidance document at https://www.faa.gov/pilots/training/media/IPC_Guidance.pdf prior to the class. The only "equipment requirement" for this Clinic is a fully charged Smart Phone or another mobile device with a cellular data plan and an external power pack if you are concerned about battery life. There is no wireless network available in the classroom. If you want Internet access during the class, please use your own cellular data plan or bring or activate a hotspot.
Instructor: James Rayvon Williams, CFI, CFII, AGI, IGI, is manager of the Watsonville Municipal Airport, serving in that capacity since July 2011. Previously Rayvon held a variety of high technology executive sales and marketing roles in Silicon Valley. Rayvon learned to fly at Watsonville in 1999 and went on to obtain instrument, commercial, multi-engine and various flight/ground instructor ratings. From 2005 to 2008 Rayvon achieved a Master CFI destination from the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI). From 2003 to 2010 Rayvon served Watsonville as an Aviation Safety Counselor,. He is an FAA Safety Team member and FAASTeam Lead Representative and a member of the Society of Flight Educators (SAFE). In 2010 he was named “FAAST Representative of the Year” by the San Jose FSDO. Rayvon holds a master of science in Aviation Systems Safety from Embry Riddle University, is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives, member of the Association of California Airports, a Mission and Orientation Pilot for Angel Flight West with over 125 missions flown and serves as Chief Pilot for the California Redtails, a chapter of Black Pilots of America. Rayvon has over 2,400 flight hours (including over 500 dual given) and owns a Beechcraft Bonanza based at Watsonville.
This program is one of a series in the Ventura County 99s 20th Annual Pilot Proficiency Classes, an annual series of approximately 20-25 seminars and programs from February to May. There is a fee for all classes except the February 19th "Reflections of a Test Pilot" with Tom Morgenfeld. Some classes fill to capacity quickly. Please register for the seminar at least 24 hours in advance to ensure we have seats for everyone at http://www.vc99sclasses.com. We cannot guarantee a seat to people who do not register in advance. If seats are available, we will gladly accept payments and registration from walk-ins at the door.
Unless otherwise indicated on the registration web site http://www.vc99sclasses.com, all classes meet in the upstairs meeting room of the Department of Airports, 555 Airport Way, Camarillo, CA 93010, on the field at KCMA.
