Title:
Maximum Performance with Positive Control
Topic:
Positive control matters,especially near the edges of the performance envelope.
Date and Time:
Thursday, December 5, 2019, starting at 20:00 Pacific Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Ray Owen
Brief Description:

Control vs. performance. There are times when we want (or need) to extract maximum performance from our aircraft. As we approach the edges of the performance envelope, we also approach the edges of the control envelope. Pilots get into trouble when operating in unfamiliar parts of the envelope because we don't always recognize the control vs. performance tradeoffs. Throw in a distraction or two and it gets really interesting.

What will we discuss? A few potentially stressful scenarios for single and multi-engine pilots, such as a canyon turn, balked landing, engine failure, maximum weight takeoff, high density altitude, etc.

Join us on Thursday, December 5th from 8:00 to 9:00 pm for a refresher on the key elements of maintaining positive control in these (and other) scenarios. We will also discuss how to incorporate situational awareness and upset recovery techniques into your next flight review or WINGS flight event.
