Title:
De-Mystifying the Tail Dragger
Topic:
De-Mystifying the Tail Dragger
Brief Description:
You don't have to be a super pilot to fly tail wheel aircraft. The basic skills you learned in flying a tricycle gear aircraft all apply to tail wheel airplanes. The main differences are gear geometry and a positive angle of attack on the ground that means you must be more acutely aware of your environment. This seminar will review the basic differences between a tail dragger and a tricycle gear airplane during ground handling, takeoff and landing. Hopefully the seminar will encourage you to check out in one of these wonderful airplanes. At the very least it will be a great review of torque effects that apply to all reciprocal powered airplanes as well as crosswind takeoff and landing techniques.
