Speaker(s):
Mark Fellner, ATC Specialist and Gregg Squires, DPE
Brief Description:
Repeat of seminar given 5/23/2019 at KEDC
There have been incidents of conflicts between VFR pilots departing KGTU east or westbound and not using ATC services (other than Class D tower). Some of these departures have resulted in near head-on conflicts between the departing aircraft and IFR traffic inbound to KAUS. A presentation on how pilots can mitigate the risks of not using ATC services and how to improve both IFR and VFR communications with ATC.
