Title:
Piston Engine Management - beyond the basics
Topic:
Engine management during all phases of flight for both carbureted and injected engines either rich of peak or lean of peak.
Date and Time:
Monday, July 1, 2019, starting at 18:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Craig Albright, Emmet Bartholomew
Brief Description:

While earning our initial license (e.g., PPL), most of us trained in simple aircraft having modest-sized, carbureted engines with only a couple of engine gauges.  As a result, our training in engine management was often minimal.  This seminar moves beyond the "basics", covering all phases of flight in both carbureted & injected engines either normally aspirated or turbocharged.

This is a 3 hour presentation with a minimum of one break provided approximately 1 1/2 hours into the program.

Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):

As a flight instructor who often gets to fly/train with pilots already having their certificates, Craig Albright noticed that engine management is a complete mystery for many pilots.  Pilots discuss possibly needing a top-overhaul at 1200 hrs.   This presentation was designed as a soup-to-nuts discussion of how to manage piston engines.
