Brief Description:

Please join the National Weather Service (NWS) as we bring the southwest U.S. aviation and weather forecasting communities together to promote aviation safety and productivity through improved weather awareness and forecasting services. Topics include:  Aviation weather safety and preparedness, interpretation of graphical forecast products and web services, aviation outreach and applications, best practices in aviation impact-based decision support services (IDSS) and tools, GOES 16-17 satellite innovations and advancements, and TAF improvements including  Digital Aviation Services (DAS).

Presenters at the second day session on Saturday, June 8 will come from different NWS Weather Forecast Offices, Center Weather Service Units, the Aviation Weather Center (www.aviationweather.gov), National Safety Transportation Board, University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, Arizona Pilots Association, FAA Safety Team, and more. The first day session on Friday, June 7th will feature Aviation Weather Forecasting presentations intended mainly for meteorologists. Pilots are welcome to participate in Friday’s session on June 7th but WINGS Credit will not be awarded as it will be for the Saturday’s session on June 8th.
