Brief Description:

If you own, rent, or wish to learn all about the tailwheel flight operations this workshop is for you! This tailwheel workshop was developed and implemented through partnership with EAA, Wisconsin Bureau of Aeronautics, the FAA and nine of Wisconsins' most experienced  tailwheel instructors.

The workshop consists of a 2:30 hrs. morning session and an afternoon flight training session presented by these experts and representatives from the FAA.

  • Regular Approaches
  • Crosswind Approaches
  • High Wind Approaches
  • Advanced landing techniques used during crosswind conditions,
  • shortfield and soft field landings
  • Wheel landings
  •     poweroff,
  •     partial power
  •     power
  • Three point landings
  • Taxi to tiedown
  • Postflight check
  • Earn WINGS credit for this activity

 

The morning workshop is free of charge. There is a charge for the afternoon session consists of flight training session:

Flight Training;

  • Advanced Preflight Check
  • Taxi
  • Takeoff, crosswind, short-field and soft-field operation, (use of a yaw string)
  • Landing, crosswind, short-field and soft-field operation three point, and wheel landing,
  • Taxi to tiedown
  • Postflight check
  • Earn WINGS flight credit for this activity

"For those who would like to earn WINGS flight credit on that day after the ground portion of the seminar, it is important to schedule your flight and CFI in advance to reserve one of the limited time slots available. Flight times will be offered in 1.5 hour slots including an approximate one-hour flight. If you wish to receive WINGS credit for attending this workshop please register for this seminar at this site. When you register for the seminar, you insure that credit is correctly applied to you. When you attend the program, an attendance sheet will be circulated. Make sure you initial it next to your name. You may also obtain credit by adding your name and email address to the attendance sheet at the workshop, but if you do this, please make sure that the email address you use is registered on http://www.faasafety.gov/ You must have an email address to receive credit.
