Title:
Angle of Attack Awareness
Topic:
Angle of Attack Awareness: Why is That Stick Shaking?
Date and Time:
Saturday, April 27, 2019, starting at 10:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Dennis Miller CFI, 2019 FAASTeam Representative of the Year for DuPage District
Brief Description:

A lack of awareness with respect to Angle of Attack (AoA) can result in the loss of aircraft control and contribute to a fatal accident. Increasing the general aviation pilot's awareness of the aerodynamic effects of AoA can reduce the likelihood of inadvertent loss of control.

While most general aviation aircraft are NOT equipped with special AoA indicators, pilots who understand this important concept and its effects may practice and train to avoid exceeding the critical angle of attack, and lessen the occurance of airplane stalls.
