The objective of these free seminars is to provide an overview and to review
the basic use of the various VFR and IFR chart and publication products.
The main focus is to:
- Broaden user chart knowledge.
- Re-enforce the need to fly with current charts and
publication data.
- Provide an opportunity for chart users to ask questions.
Aeronautical charts and publications contain a wealth of information. Some of
that information has never been taught, or has been learned but quickly
forgotten. Reviewing and understanding chart information can save time, money,
and sometimes lives.
Our speakers are aviation professionals who can bridge the gap between pilots
and chart makers to make the seminar an enjoyable and productive safety oriented
learning experience.
These highly interactive programs help answer those tough questions such as:
- What are the differences between TACs, WACs, and
Sectionals?
- What am I flying over?
- Who's airspace am I flying in?
- How do I avoid TFRs?
- How come I get lost when I have the chart in front of
me?
- What are the plans for new charting products?
Participants will review VFR chart products,
Aeronautical Data Sources, current VFR chart changes, temporary flight
restrictions, obstructions and MEF, VFR navigation techniques, classes of
airspace and chart symbology.
Pre-registration for this program is not required.
However, as seating is limited, it will be a first come, first seated event!
This program is being sponsored by Strand Flying Service
and co-hosted by the Commemorative Air Force.
