Topic:
Loss of Control
Date and Time:
Monday, March 4, 2019, starting at 18:30 Central Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Heather Metzler
Brief Description:

The United States has the largest and most diverse GA community in the world, with
more than 220,000 active aircraft, including amateur-built aircraft, rotorcraft, balloons,
and highly sophisticated turbojets. Inflight loss of control – mainly stalls – accounts for
the largest number of GA fatal accidents. Although the fatal accident rate is declining,
Fiscal Year 2017, 347 people still died in 209 general aviation fatal accidents.
