Title:
On Board Radar
Topic:
TBM On board Radar. What it can tell you and how.
Date and Time:
Saturday, January 5, 2019, starting at 12:00 Pacific Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Tom McGrath
Brief Description:

Not many of us have on board radar but if we did, would we know how to use it and what information it can provide?  On Board Radar can give us a wealth of tactical information but it can also fool us if we do not know what we are looking at or what the immediate weather in front of us can mask further down the line.

If you fly with radar, want to learn more about the advantages of radar or just some weather traps that can happen when flying around weather, join Tom McGrath, TBM pilot who has flown all over the Western Hemisphere and Europe and has gathered a plethora of knowledge and experience.

Tom McGrath retired from Lockheed Martin in 2012 and now consults to the US Gov’t on Missile Defense. He is a private pilot with SEL-I privileges.  With approximately 6000 hours flight time, with 4500 in Bonanzas and 1600 in TBM turboprops, he now flies 300-350 hours a year for business and personal purposes.  Seeking adventure, Mr. McGrath has flown Bonanzas to Europe, South America, Central America, Caribbean, Bahamas and Alaska. With the TBM, he has flown to Europe 3 times.

This event qualifies for FAA Wings credit.
