Title:
Triple Tree and Florence
Topic:
Flight Planning, Weight & Balance and Aeronautical Decision Making (ADM)
Date and Time:
Tuesday, January 8, 2019, starting at 19:00 Eastern Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Graeme J W Smith
Brief Description:

Graeme Smith is in the habit of flying open ended cross country trips with a tent and sleeping bag.

It’s not the final destination—it’s the planning for adventures along the way—that make for a safe trip.

Come see one such “adventure” to the Triple Tree fly in in South Carolina.  The approach of Hurricane Florence meant that cutting and running early to stay ahead of the storm was wise.  However the apparently simple 650 mile trip home turned into a 7 day slog of weather avoidance and sitting it out.  Planning for eventualities and the possibilities of having to “stay out” helped alleviate the constant threat of “Get-There-I-Tis”.
