Speaker(s):
Randy White, Air Traffic Controllers
Brief Description:

This meeting will be a combined Louisville IMC Club and Third Thursday FAASTeam meeting.  This meeting is all about putting pilots and controllers together in the same room to get a glimpse of what it is like on the other side.  The intent is to develop a better understanding of each other's role in the air traffic system and answer those burning questions that you would never ask on the frequency.

Best operating practices and how to work within the SDF airspace will be among the topics discussed.  Come find out why that request may have been denied.  Join us to understand how to ask the right questions, reduce your and the controller workload, and work within the system to get what you want.

Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):

Please Note: Since this is the FAASTeam Annual Pilot / Controller Forum, and in order to have as many pilots attend as possible we will not have our Third Thursday meeting this month. This Forum will combine the regular IMC Club and Third Thursday meetings into one meeting on August 23rd!

The purpose of the IMC Club is to promote instrument flying, proficiency and safety.  Along with IFR flying, we have monthly chapter meetings where pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences to promote safety and build proficiency within the IFR system.

Bring your thoughts or stories and be willing to share them with the group. This meeting is very interactive. Participation by the group is a key element to the meeting.

Others have found it helpful to bring along a copy of their flight manual, GPS manual and charts. If you navigate with an iPad, bring it along.

Who can attend?
We ask that all pilots attend this important Forum where you can ask questions of and interact with local Air Traffic Controllers. This meeting is open to all pilots and will help enhance your knowledge of operating safely in controlled airspace both locally and throughout NAS.
