Title:
Lycoming Engines
Topic:
Myths vs. Facts and the efficient management of the Lycoming engine
Date and Time:
Thursday, August 9, 2018, starting at 19:00 Pacific Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Brian Costello
Brief Description:

Lycoming began in 1845 as the Demorest Manufacturing Company producing sewing machines and bicycles in Williamsport, PA.  It became Lycoming Foundry and Machine Company in 1907. Lycoming developed automobile engines in a market driven by the needs of a nation at war. Then inspired by Charles Lindberg’s trans-Atlantic flight, Lycoming began developing aviation aircraft engines. Starting in 1929 aviation would never be the same. The first Lycoming R-680, a 9-cylinder 200 hp piston-driven radial engine left the assembly line and established a new standard in general aviation. Their piston engines continue to evolve today as they develop advanced technologies to remain the power behind general aviation aircraft.

Please join us in welcoming our special guest, Brian Costello, Lycoming’s Western Regional Sales Manager, as he discusses Lycoming’s history and current events, the Engine model ‘Decoder’, and tips for efficient Lycoming engine management including leaning, magneto drops and oil level topics as well as engine operation myths vs. facts. He will then open the discussion to your questions or other topics you would like to know more about.
