Our Speaker:

Barry Knuttila is a refugee from corporate America. In 2002, Barry was a VP at Peregrine Systems, a Billion dollar publicly-traded enterprise software company who’s accounting suddenly went south, landing the CEO and CFO in prison and destroying the company. Barry decided that he needed a break, and as a passionate pilot, gave himself a gift of 2 years working at King Schools, to update their technology before looking for his next “real job”. That was 15 years ago, and Barry has now officially given up on looking for a “real job”.

As King’s CEO, Barry is responsible for leading the executive team and guiding King Schools strategy and growth. Barry has also continued to grow as a pilot, acquiring an ATP certificate with a Falcon 10 type rating, a seaplane rating and a Flight Instructor Certificate with Instrument and Multiengine ratings. He owns a third of a Beechcraft Debonair and manages a Piper Aztec. Barry has flown 42 different types of aircraft for 2,300 hours and has lately been seen behind the controls of a Great Lakes biplane while maintaining unusual attitudes (flying in them too!). Barry has spent 500 hours flying King Schools’ old Falcon 10, while trading legs and captain/co-pilot seats with John and Martha. Who can imagine better mentors? As much fun as it is flying a hot .87 Mach, swept-wing French jet, when asked what aircraft Barry likes best, his answer is always…”the last one”.

Thank you to Solar Turbines for the use of their conference room.
