Brief Description:

 

Almost half of the aircraft in the San Francisco Bay Area it is estimated, will be grounded in 16 months because they are not now ADS-B compliant.   How the Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast system will affect how pilots currently fly now, touting both the good and the bad, and all of the different types of radios, their costs, the benefits and limitations will be presented at this seminar.  Aircraft owners will learn what radios will be required in their aircraft, the costs and how to install it. Pilots will learn how ADS-B will make flying easier and at the same time understand the problems you will encounter.

 

The Hiller Aviation Museum will host this seminar that will present not only the benefits and the problems pilots will be faced with when operating an aircraft equipped with ADS-B, but will present every type of radio that will bring an aircraft into compliance.

 

Cameron Rolfe, an aviation technician as well as a pilot for over 45 years will present this topic with at the Hiller Aviation Museum located adjacent to San Carlos Flight Center.

Directions to Room: Pilots who fly in should park in transient parking on the opposite side of the field and expect to walk about 10 minutes (.5 mile) to the Flight Center. Hiller Museum is located adjacent to the Flight Center.  Shuttle Services are available (see below).  On occasion, rides may be prearranged through San Carlos Aviation and Supply.
