Brief Description:

Looking to fly to, or cross the Sierra Nevada Mountains? This seminar will cover the following topics: Density altitude and performance, aircraft selection, mountain weather, takeoffs and landings, safety considerations, and more.

Darryl Kalthof has been instructing in the SF Bay Area since 1993. He graduated from San Jose State University's aviation program in 1994 with a BS degree in Aviation Flight Operations and has flown as a part 135 cargo captain and commuter airline co-pilot. He has also worked for NASA's Aviation Safety Reporting System and is now a full-time instructor at West Valley, who has traveled to the Sierras 100+ times.
