Topic:
System/Component Failure
Speaker(s):
Zach Hurst, Chief Instructor, Aero-Tech Services
Brief Description:
In addition to Flight Instructors and Designated Pilot Examiners, all pilots are welcome at this event.
In the Harrisburg Flight Standards District, mechanical failure is a leading contributing factor in aircraft accidents and incidents--second only to loss of control. In this forum we will discuss an actual accident resulting from engine failure. We also will discuss owner/operator maintenance responsibilities and how we teach the execution of forced landings.
