Pushing the envelope - An invitation to disaster
Topic:
Guided discussion: Pushing the envelope - An invitation to disaster
Date and Time:
Monday, March 19, 2018, starting at 19:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Victor Cordero
Brief Description:

Pushing the envelope - An invitation to disaster

We are not talking about an engine performance graph with small lines and dots on it; rather, we are referring to three (3) recent local accidents: The MLB player’s crash in an Icon A5, the Bartow crash, and the King Air crash out of Sanford International.  Nine (9) lives were lost in accidents where the pilots may have pushed themselves beyond their flying experience and capabilities.  Reading the details leaves many of us wondering, "What were they thinking?"

As the NTSB finalizes the official accident reports, we will have an opportunity to review video tapes, ATC voice recordings, and discuss other known facts.  This is not to assign blame, but an effort to understand how and why things went so terribly wrong.

Analysis "After an Accident” is always helpful, but please be ready to contribute your own personal experiences that may help keep the rest of us from falling into deadly traps.  This seminar will offer you 1 Knowledge Credit for your WINGS phase and will serve as the monthly IMC Club meeting.  Your knowledge & experience is valuable to your fellow airmen/women; please participate and share your knowledge so we all become safer aviators.
