Title:
Monthly Safety Meeting
Topic:
Obstacle Clearance Surface -- Where Does Legal Put Us?
Date and Time:
Tuesday, March 13, 2018, starting at 12:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Uwe Zeizinger (FAASTeam Rep, German Air Force Pilot (ret), ATP/CFII/MEII, Chief Flight Instructor at Cobra Kai Flight Academy)
Brief Description:

Attendees at last month's meeting were made aware of the transmission-line hazard at the approach end of Kickapoo Runway 35.  Although the FAA originally determined that the line would not be a hazard, they have since had second thoughts.  In his presentation entitled "Obstacle Clearance Surface -- Where Does Legal Put Us?" Uwe Zeizinger (FAASTeam Representative, German Air Force Pilot (ret), ATP/CFII/MEII, and Chief Flight Instructor at Cobra Kai Flight Academy) will explain why the FAA would initially determine it not to be a hazard and why/how it is really a serious hazard -- especially at night. Wings credit will be awarded to attendees.
