Brief Description:

Although this seminar is targeted for the Student Pilot, we encourage all pilots interested to attend. Sarah Hughes, Oakland FSDO FAA Safety Team Program Manager will discuss Pilot Deviations and Compliance Philosophy.  Dave Carmen, Oakland ARTCC Air Traffic Control Specialist and CFI, will discuss the 'Do's and Don'ts’ as well as communications with Oakland ARTCC.  Hayward Air Traffic Control Specialist Mike Prijatel will elaborate on the movement areas, runway incursions and the Class "C" and "D" Airspace.  A presentation by Aviation Safety Consultant, CFI and FAAST Representative Sam Gross will be an interactive discussion about "Operating at Airports", "How to Maintain Situational Awareness", and "Loss of Control Scenarios".

Sarah Hughes is the FAAST Manager at the Oakland FSDO with years of experience as a Commercial Pilot and with the FAA.  Dave Carmen is an Air Traffic Control Specialist at the Oakland ARTCC and a CFI.  Mike Prijatel is an Air Traffic Control Specialist at Hayward Tower.  Sam Gross is an Aviation Safety Consultant, CFI at Flying Vikings and an FAA Safety Team Representative who also had 27 years of experience with the FAA.
