Title:
UPDATED ADDRESS - Threat and Error Management in General Aviation
Topic:
Manage Risk Like The Pros!
Date and Time:
Monday, April 23, 2018, starting at 19:15 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Justin Schlechter, Major Airline Captain & CFII, Ben Struck, FAA Safety Team Program Manager
Brief Description:

At this informative two hour seminar, we'll explore Threat and Error Management.

Threat and Error Management (TEM) is an overarching safety management approach that assumes that pilots will naturally make mistakes and encounter risky situations during flight operations.

We will discuss Threat & Error Management tools & techniques to make your next flight safer.

A Threat is "any condition that increases the complexity of the operation."

Threats, if not managed properly, can decrease safety margins and can lead to errors.

An Error is "the mistake that is made when threats are mismanaged."

The airlines all use a formalized risk management process to reduce risk in their flights, shouldn't you?

What procedures can you as a General Aviation pilot use to help manage your threats, reduce errors, and mitigate risk to achieve a safe outcome in your flights?

Additionally, we will review some information regarding Smart Cockpits.

Only you can choose to be a safer pilot!
