Performance Monitoring and Engine Maintenance Avoiding Maintenance Errors
Topic:
Engine Maintenance & Performance Monitoring / Avoiding Maintenance Errors
Date and Time:
Tuesday, February 20, 2018, starting at 18:00 Central Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Dennis Miller CFI & II 'Gold Seal' / Marty King IA / FAASTeam
Brief Description:

FAASTeam Representatives Dennis Miller, CFI, and Marty King, IA, will present two aircraft maintenance-related topics, Engine Maintenance and Maintenance Errors.

The General Aviation Joint Steering Committee System/Component Failure Work Group believes that engine maintenance has led to a significant number of general aviation power failures. The committee feels that flight data monitoring could help forecast these trouble areas before component failures.

Dennis Miller will cover;

1. The safety benefits of proper engine maintenance.

2. How maintenance can be enhanced with Flight Data Monitoring (FDM).

3. The various means of acquiring the necessary data through hardware, software and manually.

Marty King will cover;

1. Engine maintenance best practices, common maintenance errors leading to accidents.

2. Preventative maintenance versus supervised inspections and maintenance.
