Doug Evink, President and CEO of Tanis will discuss the are many opinions floating around regarding aviation preheat, but “what are the facts?”  Tanis Aircraft Products sets out to clear the air by conducting many temperature mappings and thermal imaging of aircraft engines.  Doug will present those findings and help explain the results.

This seminar will be located in the Modern Avionics Hanger located behind shop. If flying in, ramp is full and you need to park across the taxiway in the grass please notify Flying Cloud Ground Control of your intentions.

Doug Evink is the President and Owner of Tanis Aircraft Products.  Doug grew up on a Southwestern Minnesota farm, graduated from Edgerton High School, Alexandria Technical College, and continued his education at Anoka Ramsey Community College and the University of Minnesota. Prior to purchasing Tanis, Evink was the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Palen Kimball Company.  He also held management positions with Johnson Controls and the Maytag Corporation.

Tanis Aircraft Products is the world’s leading manufacturer of preheat systems for the aviation industry.  Tanis has always been a company of firsts.  Tanis was the first to develop engine-mounted preheat systems for piston engines, first to offer helicopter preheat, and the first to offer turbine preheat.  This includes 7 different patents related to aviation preheat systems.  Since Evink’s purchase in 2012, Tanis has added to the list of firsts by becoming the first Aviation Preheat Company to meet the rigorous requirements for FAA Supplemental Type Certification. The Tanis team now has received nine STCs and has secured TCCA - Canada, EASA - Europe, JCAB - Japan, and IAC - Russia, approval of several of those STCs.

Tanis has its manufacturing facility at the Glenwood Municipal Airport (FAA-PMA#: PQ2364CE) in West Central Minnesota and has its engineering, sales, and administrative office is in Blaine, Minnesota near the Anoka County Airport.
