Flying in Winter Weather for Pilots and CFIs
Flying in Winter Weather for Pilots and CFIs
Date and Time:
Thursday, December 7, 2017, starting at 19:00 Eastern Standard Time Download Calendar File
John Somiak, Dave Cecchino, Dave Miller
Brief Description:

This is a combined Pilot Update and CFI Open Forum. Information covered will include special pre-flight considerations, weather wisdom, the importance of surviving winter weather, snow/ice/frost removal before flight, engine operation and power management tactics, operations on snowy/ice surfaces, induction icing, CO awareness, in-flight icing encounters, and preventative post-flight SOPs.

In-flight icing is only part of the story when it comes to risk assessment for operations in cold weather encountered by GA pilots.  This seminar will help equip the participants with information and operational tactics to mitigate many of the cold weather risk factors to which the unwary aviator would otherwise fall prey.
