We would like the thank the Flying W for the use of their facility to present this topic to all of you!

McGuire Air Force Base Military Safety Personnel will provide important information concerning local airspace  composition and procedures to comply with during military intercept of an aircraft.  Intercept procedures will be covered as they relate to the airspace in the northeast corridor.  Every pilot should know these procedures.

Collision Avoidance, is a critical responsibility for all pilots.  During primary training, pilots are well-informed to employ collision avoidance scanning techniques outside the cockpit.  However, little formal instruction is given on the proper procedures to visually identify a potential collision threat.  The seminar is intended for pilots conducting flight operations in local congested airspace.  Maintaining Situational Awareness is vital to the safety of flight.  This is an important briefing that presents a unique opportunity to interact with local military controllers.
