Title:
Flying After Inactivity
Topic:
We will discuss issues that pilots need to consider if they have not been flying recently and how the WINGSs program can help.
Date and Time:
Tuesday, September 5, 2017, starting at 18:00 Atlantic Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Alan Lord - FAASTeam Lead Representative in San Juan
Brief Description:

"Just how long has it been since I've flown?"  Many pilots think about inactivity in terms of months or years before they need to meet with a CFI, when an honest assessment may reveal the need for some dual after a period of just weeks.  The goal should be to get proficient and at the same time meeting the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) requirements to act as PIC.

An excellent way to regain your skills after a layoff is by using the WINGs Program.  For that matter, it's an excellent way to maintain skills during a time of infrequent flying.  We will take this opportunity to update/refresh/or create everyone's knowledge about the WINGs Program.  That includes how it works, how it can benefit pilots and instructors, and how evidence has shown that pilots who participate have fewer accidents.
